Unfold is an exhibition of new works by Masters students currently studying on, or recently graduated from, the MA Fine Art course at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury.
Showcasing an exciting variety of work, this inter-disciplinary exhibition explores the role of critical and contextual studies in contemporary art practice. Incorporating a variety of media and conceptual approaches, the work on show includes printmaking, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, film and video.
The MA Fine Art course at Canterbury is designed to support the development of artistic and creative practice through the pursuit of an individual research project. Whilst on the Master’s course students are actively encouraged to show and distribute their work outside the university context, both as groups and individually. Such opportunities, embodied in projects such as Unfold, are seen as productive in both informing and testing the development of their research.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 5th November and will run until 15th November with a private view on Friday 4th November 6.00pm-9.00pm.
Monday 14th November – MA Student Forum
As part of the MA course, there will be a group forum for all current students on the MA course and the course leader; Dr. Terry Perk to discuss, evaluate and critique the work exhibited in the show.
