This September Bev Howard and David Nettleingham are coming to Margate (all the way from Ramsgate), with an exciting new show: Disclosure.

Disclosure is a meditation on the relationships between the material and the narrative. The experiential, tangible nature of the physical – its actuality and abundance; the multiplicity and duplicity of storytelling and discourse: their simplicity, sophistication and sophistry.

Also featuring a special collaboration: bringing together a range of talented guest artists in an original and provoking installation. This (Waste Land) is our Land engages with the challenges of enclosure, exclusion and barriers to agency; the contexts in which artistic expression can be lost or found.

‘This Land’ is counter balanced by the latest incarnation of special guest artist Maxine Chester’s Shift: a live multi-sensory installation/performance of life-cycle and states of becoming through yeast fermentation.

Artists participating in ‘Our Land’
Katie Blythe, Esme Bone, Sara Cadogan, Russell Chater, Katie Cohen, Emiliano Darquea, Bev Howard, EJ Laven, Patrick Lears, David Nettleingham, Donna Riddington, Ruth Rollason, Grace Saint, Eve Stickler, Sara Trillo and Roosa Tulvio

Dr David Nettleingham is a sociologist, artist and curator born and bred on the Isle of Thanet. In both his social research and creative practice, he is interested in the power of narrative, memory and folk mythologies; the material manifestations of changing social values and political imaginaries; the boundaries we draw between the ‘natural’ and ‘industrial’.

Bev Howard is an artist, engineer and art director with an eclectic approach to experiment in material and making. She is concerned with the structures of belief, identity and desire in our inner and outer worlds.
