Where the Wild Looks Back
Photography by Kim Saint

Where the Wild Looks Back, a solo exhibition of wildlife photography by Kim Saint Featuring a series of striking portraits captured across India and Africa, the exhibition offers an intimate and powerful exploration of the natural world.

Focusing on big cats, and iconic species including elephants, rhinos, and zebras, Kim’s work moves beyond traditional wildlife imagery. Each photograph centres on moments of stillness and connection—instances where the animal’s gaze meets the lens, and the boundary between observer and subject begins to dissolve.

Rather than documenting wildlife from a distance, these images invite viewers into a shared space of awareness. The title, Where the Wild Looks Back, reflects this exchange: a fleeting yet profound moment in which the act of looking becomes mutual.

Through careful composition and a sensitivity to light, presence, and behaviour, Kim’s portraits reveal both the individuality and dignity of each animal, while quietly acknowledging the fragility of their environments.

This exhibition encourages a slower, more reflective way of seeing—one that recognises wildlife not as spectacle, but as sentient life with its own agency and presence
