A joint exhibition of work by Alexander Johnson and Mole Hill across a range of media from oil painting to animation.
Award winning artist Alexander Johnson has learnt from the classical artists he admires – Rembrandt, Goya, Velazquez – that paintings need a sense of mystery if they are to be interesting for longer than a few seconds. His distinctive style is confident, using wry humour to make serious subject matter palatable and hold your eye. He has recently exhibited at Hastings Contemporary, Towner Eastbourne, RA Summer Shows, along with regular solo exhibitions.

Mole Hill is a BAFTA winning animator/director who is realising a long held desire to paint. His largely figurative work includes elements of narrative, caricature and frequently refers to the art historical canon with a witty revisionist eye. He has exhibited in group shows at Salon (Margate), The Festival of Cats, Linden Hall (Deal) and the Royal Academy Summer Show. ‘Absence of Normal’ is the first in-depth showing of his work.
