Artistic, Autistic – Turning Difficulties into a Gift.
The Sandra Art4All Art Studio presents twelve local artists with a varied range of abilities and learning impairments who continue to exhibit artwork in their Proud 2 Create Show. The live studio set-up will be open to the public, this time at the Pie Factory Gallery in Margate’s Old Town.
This collaboration will give opportunities for the art group to paint in the community once again, and for the public to enjoy the artist’s creating within the exhibition. Art4All feel this is a great way to start a dialogue around art and artists who are Deaf, Autistic and Neurodiverse.
At the Proud 2 Create exhibition, there will be more than 100 paintings on display, created by artists whose ages range from 13-52 years old. The Sandra Art4All artists are inspired by a wide range of themes, from landscapes to urban environments, and from animals to abstracts, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
All the artists exhibiting are part of the Sandra Art4All Art Studio [1] which was established by Sandra Hampton in 2016 to provide a platform for aspiring artists with special needs. Now in their 8th year, the exhibition will showcase a vibrant collection of drawings, paintings and photographs from artists with learning impairments including Autism, Charge Syndrome, Hearing Impairment and Cerebral Palsy.
Sandra Hampton, founder of Art4All said; “I am delighted to be able to put together this event so quickly. We are grateful to Anna from the Pie Factory Gallery for collaborating with us, so we can continue our community involvement. This will be our first time exhibiting here and we are delighted to access this incredible gallery.
We are looking forward to creating an event for the community that is informative, joyful, as well as a feast for the senses and to continue our dialogue around artists who have very different abilities”.
The Artists
Verbal and signed communication can be difficult for many of the artists due to the range of their needs. Some may walk into the studio with clear anxieties. The art workshops allow them to express themselves and relax, whilst producing beautiful works of art. Artists receive the majority of the profits from any sales of the artwork.
How you can support us
Please attend our shows where the majority of the art is available to purchase. The show will be open every day 11am – 4pm. The artists will be working in the gallery on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
