All the botanical work in the exhibition is made up of negative shapes , there is also geometry , in particular transformers. Linda’s interest in the unseen space was inspired by a Mondrian quote she read years ago “empty space has no other function than to make life possible “.

She worked in retail and Exhibtion display for 40 years handling fashion so is naturally comfortable with textiles. She uses her textiles like a painter uses their paint – she stitches small pieces of fabric onto a base fabric and then stretches the work onto a canvas like you would a painting. It’s big, bold, colourful work.
