ESCAPISM
A meditative expedition into imagined landscapes to capture the sensation of being in nature.
Drawing heavily from his backgrounds in both zoology and as a fashion designer, unconstrained by reality, the works grow organically from the canvas mixing media and techniques, scale, colour, texture and line.
Rather than depict a specific location or a single moment in time, the paintings play across multiple layers and perspectives to escape into a transient world of fluctuating elements and create an ambiguous environment that allows the viewer their own interpretation.
