Belonging
A group exhibition by Thanet Artists: Jill Pantony, E.J Laven, Nicola Lebon and Mark Dyball, inspired by varied connections with the environment and surroundings through painting, print and sculpture and ceramics.

Jill Pantony creates paintings and prints inspired by
nature and travel, she also makes functional and
decorative ceramics for the garden, her current
work relates to travels in Italy.

E.J.Laven has spent most of her life on the Kent coast
and it is from this contrasting landscape, as well as the
structures and objects found along the shoreline, that
much of her work arises. Her ideas and observations
are expressed through a diverse range of media – from
sculpture and ceramics to painting, mixed media and
installation and often explore concepts associated with
the act of collecting and the relationship between objects,
artefacts and their audience.

Nicola Lebon has been revisiting her love of the patterns and
abstraction inherent in nature. Struck by the beauty of misty
tropical scenes, and the strange forms of Amazonian inhabitants.
Other works are inspired by stones found on the beach: reinvented
into Ceramic Sculptures.

Mark Dyball produces paintings whose subject matter is bound up
in the beauty of architecture, the effect a considered building can
have on our soul. He paints layers of graphic, architectural detail
onto board referencing a mixture of photography, memory and imagination.
