An exhibition of paintings from Steve McGuinness containing local scenes of Thanet depicted in his individual style and contemporary painting which focus on his use of light and colour.

Steve McGuinness has been painting, exhibiting and living in Kent for the last 35 years. In 2012 he retired as Headteacher of a special school in Longfield, after 18 years in the post, and in 2017 moved back to Ramsgate where he spent most of his childhood. In the last five years he has worked as a Behaviour Consultant delivering training and advice to schools. His main passion is painting and he has now moved to Pegwell where he intends to spend more time developing his work. His style of painting is very varied and has developed over the years as new techniques and media have been explored. He mainly paints large colourful Landscapes which explore light and colour in a linear form and has had several successful exhibitions locally.

This exhibition titled BACK HOME contains local landscapes from around Thanet as well as several abstract works which are usually commissioned pieces.

Steven’s style is immediately recognisable and his unique approach can be seen in practice as he will be painting during his exhibition at Pie Factory Margate.
